Introduction
DrivePrep NSW ("we", "our", or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our application.
Information We Collect
Local Data Storage
The App stores the following data locally on your device:
- Your practice session history and answers
- Mock test results and scores
- Bookmarked questions
- Progress statistics and accuracy metrics
- Your study plan: when your test is, whether you have sat it before, and your daily question goal
- Your daily reminder setting and time
Your practice history, answers, scores and bookmarks are not transmitted to our servers or any third parties. Some study plan choices are shared with Superwall as described under Paywall Services and Analytics below.
Notifications
If you turn on the daily study reminder, the App asks for permission to send notifications and schedules the reminder on your device. Reminders are created locally and are not sent through our servers. You can change the time or turn reminders off in Settings, or turn off notifications for the App in your device's Settings.
Third-Party Services
Advertising (Free Tier)
The free version of the App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use data such as device identifiers, IP addresses, and usage information to serve personalised ads. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for more information.
Paywall Services and Analytics
The App uses Superwall to present and measure paywalls and onboarding. Superwall receives a persistent anonymous app user ID, device and app details, paywall interactions, and premium subscription status. During onboarding it receives which steps you view and complete, whether your answer to the sample question was correct, when your test is (for example "in a few weeks"), whether you have sat the test before, your daily question goal, and whether you turned on the daily reminder. When a paywall can appear, the App also sends the test type you are studying, the practice category involved, and whether a mock test was passed. Your practice history, individual answers, scores and bookmarks are not sent. The App also sends simple premium access attributes (free, lifetime, or subscription) for paywall targeting. We do not send your name or email to Superwall. Superwall's Privacy Policy is available at superwall.com/legal/privacy-policy.
In-App Purchases
If you make a purchase through the App, your payment information is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment details. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for more information.
Data Security
Your practice history, test scores, bookmarks, and progress statistics stay on your device and are not sent to our servers or to Superwall. Superwall receives the anonymous app and device information, premium status, paywall interactions, onboarding steps and study plan choices described above. Google AdMob may collect advertising data as described in the Advertising section.
Children's Privacy
The App is designed for learner drivers preparing for the NSW Driver Knowledge Test. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App's local storage does not require or collect personal identifying information.
Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- Delete Data: You can clear your practice history and mock test results for a test in Settings, using Reset Progress
- Reminders: You can turn off the daily reminder in Settings at any time
- Uninstall: Deleting the App will permanently remove all locally stored data from your device
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
Not Affiliated
This App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Service NSW, Transport for NSW, or any government agency. This is an independent study tool.
